So named for its shape, that of an old fashioned metal flat iron,
the Flat Iron Steak is relatively new to the British culinary repertoire.
Having been born in the States, the Flat Iron is gaining in popularity
as a great alternative to the more expensive steak options.
Cut from the chuck (shoulder), at its best it is nicely marbled.
Cooked properly, it is tender and juicy with intensely beefy flavours.
Best eaten rare to medium rare.
